It was an exhausting 48 hours, but such an exhilirating one. Texas makes me happy. 24 hours after touching down in Houston, I was standing in DKR-Memorial Stadium singing The Eyes of Texas. The first half was a struggle with jet lag, but I perked up with the Horns "come back". I'm assuming since they were down to Wyoming 6-7 late in the second quarter that they were jet lagged too.
I phoned Richard on the drive back to Houston Sunday and told him my favorite part of Texas is the giant blue sky. I miss the Texas sky. Of course, queso and Whataburger were a nice welcome as well. I'm taking a queso break today, but only because I'm planning on a nice scoop of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla. And I think I'll have it poolside if this Houston rainy weather will cooperate with me.
Texas, thank you for the great welcome home!
Welcome back to Texas! We missed you!
