Cousins in Connemara

We departed Dingle and headed up the West coast for a night in Galway and my favorite drive in Ireland, the Connemara Loop. Each and every time I drive around Connemara, I fall deeper in love with it. It's bogs and loughs and cliffs are utterly breathtaking in any weather conditions and any time of year.

Cousins!

May brought us a treat...sunny, almost warm weather and a visit from the cousins! We did some serious travel, heading first to Dingle. We've never seen Dingle in the sunshine. And what a difference it makes! Finally we understand what all the fuss is about. It was beautiful.

The Spring lambs were everywhere! It was so much fun seeing the adorable lambs everywhere we went.

For the first time, we were able to spend the night in Dingle and sample some of the local food. Richard really enjoyed his battered & fried smoked haddock with chips (I thought it was a bit much on the smoky flavor). We also really enjoyed the Half Door. See below for some food pics. Dingle is known for it's quirky pub/shops. There's the bicycle shop/pub, the cobbler/pub and many more. We visited just a few! Oh and how can i forget Murphy's Ice Cream?! It was too delicious. I had a scoop of sea salt with a scoop of caramel. Yum, yum, yum. Richard had the Guinness with the Irish Whiskey. Also delish!

Can  you believe this was all in the first 36 hours of cousin time?
